Marty Park, Chief Executive Officer
Marty brings 17 years of local and international strategic management, sales, and business coaching experience to Rare Method – including eight years of experience in interactive and traditional marketing. An experienced entrepreneur with a passion for helping organizations achieve growth, Marty has owned and operated businesses since he was 21 years old. He has been named one of Calgary’s “Top 40 under 40, and is a frequent keynote speaker on the performance of companies and people. |

Joshua Ius C.A., Chief Financial Officer
Josh holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management, a Masters degree in Professional Accounting and a Chartered Accountant Designation. While articling with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Vancouver, Houston and Calgary, Josh gained valuable experience in diverse industries including the technology, real estate, and oil and gas sectors. Before joining Rare Method, Josh served as treasury manager for Carma Developers, a subsidiary of Brookfield Properties. Josh has broad experience in corporate finance, financial reporting, internal control and corporate income tax.

Geoff Plewes, Director of Client Services
A passionate marketer, Geoff’s motivation stems from a desire to get tangible results for his clients utilizing a combination of great creative and campaign measurement. Geoff began his career in marketing as a partner, lead strategist, writer and designer with Cogent Media, an integrated communications agency. Since joining Rare Method in 2004, Geoff’ has built strategies and led teams to deliver marketing results to startup and enterprise clients alike, including senior strategy and media roles on Travel Alberta, Fairmont Hotels, Bell Canada, 3M Health Information Systems, Petro-Canada Certigard, and GWL Realty Advisors.

Steve Pearson - Creative Director, Designer
Steve has 23 years experience as a graphic designer. His criteria for what makes for great design are (a) Does it make sense? (b) Will it make money for the client? And (c), Will it make people say, "Wow!"? He is an ACAD graduate and has held positions as an illustrator, production designer, graphic designer, and art director at leading agencies including Brown Communications, Rock Paper Scissors, SPIN Creative, and now Rare Method. Steve is one of the few creative directors around with a fine-tuned balance of marketing insight, commonsense, and creativity. He has developed creative solutions for the Calgary Parking Authority, Northland Village Mall, Marda Loop BRZ, Cardel Homes, O Hotel Suites, Stone Creek Properties, Hospice Calgary and Habitat for Humanity.

Dave McKean – Creative Director, Copywriter
Dave is a writer by trade. He puts a priority on finding the big idea that makes a client’s message stand out from the crowd. But... the message must also illuminate, explain, scream, and/or put a lovely gloss on the actual features and benefits of the client’s product or service. He has been with Rare Method since 2005 except for 18 months spent as copy director and writer for global stock photo leaders Veer and Corbis. Dave has written and led successful ad campaigns in all media for local, national and international clients including Banff Lake Louise Tourism, Moxie’s, Bayer CropScience, Travel Alberta International, Jugo Juice, Calgary International Film Festival, Calgary Downtown Association, and AIDS Calgary.

David Blain, Executive Vice President, Business Development, supervises the Salt Lake City account service and media teams and leads the strategic direction of all client business. David began his career in Los Angeles, where he worked on Sea World of California and Hughes Aircraft account teams. From there, he moved to Salt Lake City to work in a variety of account management positions including Senior Account Supervisor and strategic leader on the WordPerfect/Novell, InFocus Systems, Intel SPG and Iomega account teams. In 1995, David co-founded B/O/W/G with Jeff Olsen, Eric White and Travis Gurr, and in 2007 merged with Rare Method. In May 2005 B/O/W/G was recognized by Advertising Age Magazine as one of the Top US Agencies. |

Jeff Olsen, Chief Creative Officer, has a passion for brand building and knows how to
make smaller clients look big and big clients look personal. A creative director
and co-founder of B/O/W/G, he also had stints with Cole & Weber, Publicis,
EuroRSCG, Bonneville Communications and Richter 7. Jeff has guided creative
development for brands such as Intel, 3M, Ticketmaster, Sundance, the 2002 Salt
Lake Olympic Bid Committee, 7UP and United Way. His work has received honors
from the pinnacle of the advertising profession, including awards from The One
Show, the CLIOs, Communication Arts, GRAPHIS, PRINT, the ATHENAs, New York Film
Festivals, the OBIEs, International Mobious Awards and The National ADDYs. In
addition to his creative accolades, Jeff's has been named as an Ernst &
Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalists, has appeared on the Inc. 500 list of
America's fastest growing companies and has been named as Utah's Advertising
Professional of the Year.
